Brexit Secretary In Brussels Rush Visit.
I see that Dominic Raab took a hurried trip to Brussels today for "talks" with Barmier. Hope he gave him the two word answer that he deserves. Then told him that the EUSSR is done for - it has only ever been a financial gravy-train for the political scumbags aboard it. The money taps are due to be turned off, and then we take control of our own interests. Just hope that they agree to take all the EUSSR sheeple off our hands and make room for people who believe in the future prosperity of Britain to shine.

He may be creating a better public image than was expected, but he still got the job claiming May's Chequers plan was worth supporting. Chequers already offered to cross red lines. It remains to be seen what he finally supports. Anything that prevents trade agreements outside the EU, save on EU terms, won't be acceptable. That wouldn't be regained sovereignty.
I’ve always seen Raab as a stool pigeon and Mays lackey.
He agreed with the Chequers plan and didn’t seem to do anything to promote a real Brexit. Not a future PM if that is what he’s go8ng to do.
However to be fair no one can change Mays Chequers plan so no Brexiter is going to do a good job. Which was her plan for putting a leaver in place.

PS: It requires only a modicum of moral principle and self-respect to understand Kipling's point. How disappointing that so many posters appear undernourished in these respects.

I think Mr. Raab may have thrown away his principles when he was offered a more prominent job.
I think it became clear pretty soon after the vote that we were going to get sold down the river, and the more it drags on, the more likely it seems.
Treason May has capitulated on so many things, and I think we will end up with even more caving in, with the EU ‘pretending’ it has been reasonable and acceded to some things, whilst she chants her mantra of “a good deal for the UK.”
A bit like those wife swap and nanny/naughty step programmes: It’s all a nightmare up until the last lot of adverts, and then suddenly everything is harmony and serenity!

Eurocrats are said to be insisting on another ‘backstop’ on top of this one; namely that contingencies be put in place for Northern Ireland to be kept in the EU’s Customs Union and Single Market by itself if there are any issues keeping the whole United Kingdom in.//
