I'm sure I read that the council admitted that they were wrong, and overturned the decision.
This is the world we've created where everybody is presumed guilty.

If I was feeling charitable I'd say that rule makers and decision takers are ultra cautious but on another day I might question what's going on in their heads to get them to a place like this.
Very, very dark, possibly even worth monitoring.
I think I might have read about a different case.
I assume tora is talking - rightly - about a few of the parents.
The council threw out their complaints and he left of his own free will
Your heart does sink, what a crying shame.

Bryan has the offer of a new job though.

yes they did change their minds but he did not. I just hope that gutless little plonker of a "parent" ise hanging their heads in shame. I quite understand why he is refusing to come back. The world has gone potty, pretty soon no adult will go anywhere near interacting with children. I don't, even now, the consequences are too terrifying to comprehend. I know men of my age who won;t even go near their own grandchildren. Sad very sad.
I find it really hard to believe this is the whole story. It's ridiculous, if it is. How many are "some complaints"?
For those who're getting confused (as I was) there was another case recently in the news:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-43015924

Peeps being offended on behalf of others seems to be becoming a National Obsession, we have lots of them here on AB.
The complaints to the council were investigated but not upheld. The council did exactly the right thing, I don't see how they could have done anything else. They have to investigate complaints made about its employees.

It's understandable that Mr Broom resigned - I'd be wondering which parents had complained, whether the council was spying on me if it were me, and that is no way to work.
He was interviewed on This Morning earlier, the mothers of the children are wondering who would have made such a complaint and they are wishing he would change his mind, on principle he won't, he said he was even a governor at that school before. He won't go back even thought children pleaded with him on tv earlier, he said he'd only go back to get the lovely goodbyes again, to me he seemed to imply he's too old for this pc world where he can't even hi5 a few children in full view of drivers and parents and his own grandchildren going to the school, the implication was there and he wasn't going to carry on working where he was being scrutinised as a groomer of children. It's pc gone too far
Such a shame. I bet he enjoyed his job, but due to someone's over reaction...
I sometimes have trouble comprehending a lot of the petty idiocy I read about lately.
Anyone care to take a wild guess at the probable "background" of the parent who made the complaint??
Wouldn't surprise me if it were a few motorists peeved at being stopped for a few seconds longer than absolutely necessary
Just saw him on the news ... looked like in many cases he was making a nuisance of himself.,

Yes, I know saying that makes me a bad person but that is exactly what I saw.
I wonder who tipped off the media.
//Speaking about the shocking moment he heard the news, he said: "It went wrong in so far as I was called into a meeting and told high-fiving could be construed as grooming by the council.
"So next time a child high-fived I said 'I'm terribly sorry I’m not allowed to now'. Apparently this parent complained. //

Not a "motorist then.
Hubble bubble, let’s make trouble. Now, let me think....who’s little world can I upset today?
o dear a complaint rather wrecks everything

Personally I question the mind of the accuser. They need investigating if you ask me as how many of us would jump to the conclusion a Hi 5 was grooming.
