Did anyone watch this last night? I did appreciate Rosie's honesty about how much debt she was in and the state of her finances, but I couldn't watch all of the programme as I found it pathetic to listen to her twittering on about how much she had racked up on the credit cards,having all the cash tied up in various properties worth millions of pounds and having no time and absolutely no idea of what a budget is.

Get real woman!! I've got absolutely no sympathy whatsover. There are plenty of people out there in the real world that would be grateful for just a fraction of what Rosie and husband have. Many people in the real world have to regularly resort to using a credit card just to buy some food or a couple of new school shirts for their kids.Then struggle to try and pay it back on payday.

No doubt she has a wardrobe full of designer clothes and plenty of money to spend on hair,beauty and make up.If this sounds bitter,it's not meant to be. Rosie sounded like quite a likeable person. I just think that there are so many people that get into lots of debt just trying to scrape by,not by being greedy and trying to have it all.... Here endeth the rant!

yeh exactly. i get really fustrated at people like that, i just really wanna shout ' ITS YOUR OWN BL00DY FAULT COS YOUR SO BLOODY STUPID!!!!!!!!!'

Ditto! Ditto! Ditto!

Thank god there are still some sane people out there who if they can't afford to buy something, Don't buy it.

When enough is not enough, more will never be better!

How could anyone like that ever be satisfied or appreciate what they've got?  It's an illness, that sort of spending, I didn't see the programme but it might be the sign of a deeper malaise.

I tell you, it comes as a blessed release reading this thread. I keep hearing about how these "evil" banks and loan companies are far too ready to lend people more and more money, and credit card companies are happy to give people more and more credit, seemingly without caring whether they can pay it back or not - and they are, of course they are - BUT, no-one forces anyone to take the loans and the credit. (I know mentioning loans is straying from the question slightly, but it's the same principle).

They had a couple from Swansea (I think) on the news t'other day, tastefully filmed with tears in their eyes just in case we didn't understand that they were in a bit of a mess. She earns 100 a week, he's a long-term benefits case, yet they'd somehow managed to borrwow 100,000!! Of course, they should never have been lent that amount, but do they really need a first class degree in Economics to realise that they could never afford to pay it back? Also, I believe the bank are going to write off the entire debt - what sort of message does that send out? If you get in way over your head, just make a fuss on television and bingo, your loan becomes a grant! Easy.
* borrwow? Wha'? borrow, even.
