As usual, done with the greatest respect and dignity. I can't think of anywhere else in the world that does this sort of thing so well.

Well done to all involved.

not a pink brolly in sight !
or one with a lobster on it....
Just had a call, B says it was very emotional, also very well organised. When he Marched Past the camera was on Sophie Raworth doing an interview, so he will be a no-show.
I do realise that is not what today is about but it would have been nice to have spotted him.
"Why shouldn,t you enjoy it Mikey , you helped pay for it."

Indeed. We all pay a few pennies each year from our taxes (those of us who pay taxes, that is) to fund the various Remembrance services up and down the country. Of course the people who paid the most are the very people who are being remembered - those who made the ultimate sacrifice to enable us to live in peace and freedom. That freedom includes you being able to take the *** out of politicians and members of the public who respect and dignify the ceremonies. But I imagine that did not cross your mind when you posted your childish remark.
Of course 'the ultimate sacrifice' also ensured the right to make those 'childish remarks'
Mikey's comments were done with the greatest of respect, it was gulliver1 who made the disgraceful remark on here. My Uncle gave his life at 19 years of age in the War when his head was blown off in a tank on Nijmegen bridge, I am appalled at gulliver1 remarks, and he or she should some more respect for those who gave their lives in these terrible wars.
I know there was security about but it was not obvious. All the senior people in the royal family, along with all our major politicians , were in clear view with not a glass screen in sight. What a pleasant land we live in.
Did I miss a wreath laid by Pakistan as there was one from the Indian embassy. Even Bangladesh proffered a wreath

For the record, like Tashi, I also reported the post by Gulliver. I am somewhat surprised that it is still in place.
B has said reports go to the Editor, not the Mods, so might not be seen until tomorrow.
Gulliver its those that gave their lives for your liberty, freedom and ignorance in your case
Gulliver's post should not be removed; it should be left there as a permanent reminder to us all of his attitude. After all, the people we're remembering and honouring gave their lives so that he could show himself to be what he is.
I agree it should remain as the repetition of it by someone else and subsequent references to it make a debacle of the thread - an opinion if not one many of us share.

A very dignified and moving day as always.
Reported, omg.? :-(
It's always a moving occasion, those participating always conduct themselves superbly. Never forgotten.
