I don't suppose the poor women have any choice about having one child after another. I doubt saying No to your husband is an option in their world. No preventative measures on offer either.

Spend it from the overgenerous Overseas Aid budget....this is far too excessive given poverty levels in this country and the corruption involved in many African, M-East and subcontinent countries...

I am undecided at the moment, but I would like to find out what other Country's are donating.

I would assume that most of the starving people are Muslim, so are the oil rich Arab Country's giving, as they didn't do much to help the refuges, fleeing Syria and others?

No. Britain is giving on my behalf (with the aid of my taxes). My extra contributions go to local homeless and hungry, believe me there is plenty of need on your doorstep. Look around you.

Jourdain @ 22.42. Out of order. Why are you assuming that me and others who are donating to this latest catastrophe in Africa are unaware of what is going on around us. I am fully aware thank you and because I choose to donate to one charity doesn't mean I don't donate to others.

Doubt it. I’ve seen too much of where the money goes. No matter how much we donate we can't cure the ills of the world.

Yes, of course. I already have and will donate more next payday.
These people need rich people like us to help them. They are not in control of their circumstances or their corrupt regimes.
If only a portion of my money gets through, then it's a portion to those in need and that will do me.

Already have. As a Christian I couldn't not give. Will be called a fool and worse by many I suppose, but my conscience wouldn't allow me ignore the plight of fellow human beings.

Money would be better spent by donating it to something like the Red Cross or Médecins Sans Frontières.

I'll send the remainder of my bumper box of Durex left over from when I could give one and some Sudoku books.
There's a slim chance it could at least slow the problem down a bit and give the lads something else to do with their time.
