You wouldn't bother to read it.

no - my nephew ran a do for action cancer some years ago and £3,000 went missing. time and time again he went to the "runners" of the do asking for the missing for the £3,000 - he and himself were part of the of the run the do tthemselves- but no the admin were loathe to see him and her and couldn't come with an answer for the missing £3000 - £7,000 was raised with the missing £3,000 - he said he would never run another do for cancer ever again.

i know this is a different scenario - but does the money ever ever ever reach the the sick people
Divebuddy.....why would I post about why I'm not donating?....I am....for goodness sake....try to read a post properly for once.

gness
i could do another thread on this subject, how would you head it. ?
Heart breaking scenes are televised and published and we respond. Unfortunately, repeatedly so, year in year out. So our giving seems not to, in the long term, prevent the disasters. Now I am in mind of the adage that, "if you aren't part of the solution you must be part of the problem".

I notice that so far only one Virtue Signaller has seen fit to belittle those who said No, strangely the same one who was opposed to Keyboard Warriors not so long ago.
Funny old World!
Nobody has the right to berate people for choosing not to donate to certain charities. Donating (or not) is a very personal thing and it is not really anybody else's business.
Emmie, I wouldn't post another thread on the same topic as this one because the same will happen , it always does.

Which is why on the whole I keep my charitable interests to myself.
Well.......I suppose, sensible and well thought out reasons why you won't donate to certain charities, Emmie......

Those reasons could be well worth reading and considering.....crude answers concerning bricks and ill informed answers just detract from the original post and don't make anyone reconsider their inclination to donate to causes such as this......

Someone could, with a sensible answer, make me think about why I won't donate to say, The RSPCA.....but to be honest....ignorant posts don't......x
Baldric, I think you'll find that's two.

Thanks Naomi, I'll have another look.
Gness, when I watch the Tsunami in Japan & seen people / their homes people in cars / lorry's / buildings I was on the phone to donate, I done the exact for the Thailand people, this was a one off occurrence due to many things happening, a happening that does not come about every year or so & also self inflicted by the men that can not keep kit in their pants + the drought, year after year we hear / see the same from Africa, the same happened years ago as I've said previously with Biafra, what happens? the exact thing, famine, the answer I previously give is not because I'm a callous person, I am not I will hep anyone that helps them self, apart from the drought these people will not help themselves with childbirth, the monies that they do collect from the UK need to go to educate the men about birth control as they think nothing about their children's only about getting the ends away & in a big way, as I type this reply there is a program on about Africa & say's it's a man made crisis, then nature, It's time te government of that country gets their act together & help their people & not rely on the rest of the world while they live the life of rilly, until that happens, each year we will see the same thing, sorry if my explanation upset' you or disappoints you, until they sort that out my charity starts in the UK.

i do donate to charities, just not at the moment this one.

You're correct, that didn't take long after all.
What's a virtue signaller or keyboard warrior? You forgot hand wringer, Baldric. Cliches should be avoided like the plague
Question Author
sorry to read so much dissension, that wasn't the intention.

Didn't forget anything ff, it's all been explained to you previously, not my fault if you don't remember.
