Is this a bowl for wooden fruit? - and I see tonight on BBC4 there's a documentary on the Palio, "The world's oldest horse race", is this a race for very elderly horses, and if so, should it not be banned?

Actually folks, I have just watched the Palio program and it is the most astonishing 'sporting' event I have ever seen, highly recommended, and a cigar for anyone who can explain the rules.
