No I do not live my life permanently frightened far from it. I am fully aware of what is around me,don't walk around with my head up my jacksie and do not live in denial either.
Knife deaths only 300. That's OK then isn't it?
Got any stats of how many non but near fatal stabbings have occurred. People get shot as well but not always fatally so that doesn't count either ??
Gromit
This report is only 2 years old. Nothing tells me here in London that Knife crime has decreased. These stats were only for London and not National

"11 million school children in UK. A couple of recent incidents. That does not mean going to school is unsafe".

The 'Daily Mail effect' - works wonders on their sociopathic readers QED

Here are more recent stats from a left wing favourite (2015). From what I see it is out of control.

Don't take your head out of the sand, so as to read your Guardian, seems like they are also trying to have a certain effect on their readers.

Oh, and the BBC also, it must be a serious incident for them to report on it as well.

They will all have to stop this scaremongering, lift that carpet while I get my brush.

The 'Guardian effect' - may be questionable to their more thinking readers.

Knife crime, the increase to 26,370 offences was announced.
AP
Well there are 4 media sources mentioned already. Are we to ignore them all or just read them with rose tinted spectacles?
-- answer removed --
No RC, life is not rosy, I never implied that it was.
Gun-crime seems to me in a way more 'understandable' than knife-crime; pointing a gun and pulling a trigger, has an element of detachment from the recipient, but sinking a steel blade into another person's body I cannot imagine what that requires.

Should scanning devices be installed at school entrances, and anyone caught with such weapons be reported to the police and expelled?
Expelled!!! That is playing into their hands. It is probably the devil's own job to get them into class to study as it is.
They should be reported to police and re- schooled. One that is approved where they stay long enough to get higher education or even adult education.
AOG - did you just report one of my posts?
"Don't take your head out of the sand, so as to read your Guardian"

I do not read the Guardian, I have told you this before - are you doing this deliberately?
AOG; If you expel them won't they buy another knife and be loose in the streets?
You should not have called him Git
Why - JD it's just a shortening of his chosen AB username!
He's quite welcome to call me Prancer :-)
// According to Wiki that school had 1750 applications for 210 places last year. Andy McNabb the cut throat hero went to school there.//

not having a good day - - I thought this said

"Andy McN had to cut throats to get into school there"

immpossible it would have been his parents of course
