Certainly, that school.
Once again I see the word 'London' in the link.

I believe my children are perfectly safe at their respective schools.
Dont worry we have banned guns so all is ok
talbot, obviously you know whether your school is "safe".

but a friend had trouble with her son and his inter-action with a gang of knife-toting bullies (who the school ended up supporting, btw), this was in tadcaster near york, which unless i'm missing something isn't a hotbed of deprivation or inner city tensions. to assume trouble only occurs in big cities would be naiive.
11 million school children in UK. A couple of recent incidents. That does not mean going to school is unsafe.
mushroom am I correct in thinking the school staff supported bullies who carried knives? Did I read that correctly?
Arn't stats a wonderful thing Gromit

circa 750 Million in Europe but on a few killed by terrorists.

Would you say Europe is safe too at the moment?
complicated. let's just say that those who had the knives suffered no sanction as a result, and the friend's son was publically identified as a "grass", and ended up having to leave.
Ymb,
I feel perfectly safe.

I'm going on the links provided, not on anecdotal evidence. My kids schools must be well pussyfied ... they don't even meet for an after school punch up (we've all done that haven't we?)
I take it you can recite the Koran and have favour with the Jihadists then.

In todays knife culture anywhere is unsafe. In school,on the way to and from school,street corners after school, parks,amusement arcades. Anywhere is unsafe. Just a couple of recent incidents. You are not forgetting the teachers who have also been stabbed fatally as well as children are you?. It is out of control.
Stop and search should be rigorously applied to all ages,colours and creeds and ten years max for possession in a public place. After all I am not suggesting we hang the little darlings am I ?

obviously there are more untold facts. I have great sympathy with teachers in the hardships of modern day teaching in our classroom jungles but the teachers of the school you cite appear complicit. If so it would seem that some "grassing" to Ofsted not to mention the police is in order.
I was wondering how long before this one got posted...

I live very very close to that school and drive past it countless times each week...

Dont let the press stories fool you about that place , I see the yooofs comin' out of dere ...know what i mean innit...I know where to bet my money on this one...
baz

That was taken as read by me!!
I might be wrong, but its highly unlikely...
// In todays knife culture anywhere is unsafe. It is out of control. //

No it isn't. You must live your life perpetually frightened of everything. You are in far more danger getting in your car or crossing the road.

Road traffic deaths - 1800
Knife deaths - 300
According to Wiki that school had 1750 applications for 210 places last year. Andy McNabb the cut throat hero went to school there.

unsafe. ///

It does if you had happened to send your children to those particular schools.

This isn't a question of comparing percentages, what it is a question of though, and that is the increase of such incidences, so the question must be "where Next"?

/// Road traffic deaths - 1800 ///

People driving or in the vicinity of cars, must be in the millions.

Measures taken to address this carnage, too numerous to mention.

/// Knife deaths - 300 ///

People carrying knives, a certain few.

Measures to combat this problem, a decreasing number of stop and searches.
