You only have to see the comments from (predominantly) the men on this site to see why.

It's treated with a fair amount of ribald humour, nudge-nudge wink-wink suggestions that any red-blooded male child would think all his Christmases had come at once....

Whatever the reason in the disparity of sentencing, it is NOT the fault of 'women in general' but of the judiciary and parliament.
What's an autonym for a mysogynist.?
Sorry wrong thread will try crosswords. :-)
misandrist......why?
Probably for the reasons JTH has put. And to a certain degree it is probably correct that many a boy will not feel as violated as a girl.

And who said it is NOT the fault of 'women in general'?

The problem is that the scales of 'EQUALITY' have now tilted too far in one direction.
Have they?
Have they, really...?

How would you account for this startling turn of events?

Well is that not the question title?
Yes, it is.
And I have invited AOG to give his thoughts on the matter.

Did you fail to read this, written by the author of this piece, a mother of two sons.

/// Why should it be any different if the victim is male and the abuser female? As the mother of two sons, I am appalled at the inference that a boy can’t be raped by a woman and damaged for the rest of his life by such an experience in the way we would expect a girl to be. ///

When I was a 13-year-old paper-boy, I, like most of my schoolmates, fantasized about being seduced by an older woman. I'm sure the trauma of police interviews, counselling, being treated as a victim, possible having to give evidence, is a couple of orders of magnitude greater than any "damage" incurred from the sex act.
Is there any data to support your assertion that female sex offenders are treated more leniently?

Do you have any statistics comparing like for like offences between male and female offenders and their subsequent sentences?

Or is this premise based on a handful of cases in the Daily Mail, which they perceive as being lenient, but offer no evidence that it is.

It would appear from some of the answers, that the male child is freely available to be sexually assaulted by any female who so desires.
I think that's a bit of a stretch, AOG.

But it does seem that some older men trivialise these experiences based on their own adolescent impulses.

/// Is there any data to support your assertion that female sex offenders are treated more leniently? ///

Do you need more data than these cases reported, or have the Daily Mail made these cases up?

/// Do you have any statistics comparing like for like offences between male and female offenders and their subsequent sentences? ///

No need to trawl the internet for statistics, there have been numerous reported.

Does Jack mean you Gromit?
For the men....does it hurt?

Because if you force sex on a female it hurts, badly!!
yes, that's exactly what I was getting at Ummm. On top of that socially a boys peers will no doubt look up to them rather than a girl who is likely to be labelled a *** or worse by her peers.

Does this mean boys are freely available? No, of course not no one is saying that, just that ther ARE differences.

Not all sex is penetrative sex, men can feel pain also.

There are differences, imo. Both equally bad, but different.
