We must put this aid into perspective
Currently the Indian Air Force have 25 Fighter squadrons comprising of about 18 aircraft per squadron. This is as a result of a reduction from 32-34 squadrons in 2014. That means they only have 450 fighter aircraft left so aid is vital to them!!!!!!
Oh and by the way The current RAF fighter force left to defend our shores is 7 Air Defence and Early Warning squadrons comprising of about 16 aircraft each which are not all operational at one time. Total 112 aircraft to stave off the mighty Russian bears. Mr Cameron is certainly not looking after my interest.Talk about the RAF being "the few" yet again.

That little Gem comes from Mr Philip Hammond( Defence Secretary). You have to ask which country he is supposed to be defending when his boss wants to give handouts to other countries that do not need foreign aid.Priceless.

If you are so concerned about Retrochic's feelings (which quite frankly I find rather patronising towards her) perhaps you should not attach my metaphor with a certain bodily substance.
I merely meant into the dirt i.e.. the dust on the ground, hence then one would get a red nose, seeing that it is not self lubricating.

The trouble is, aog, that we devolve those decisions to the "Board". In just the same way that a board cannot reasonably go to its shareholders every time it makes a decision to spend 0.7% of its turnover, the government cannot go to the country each time. The only option we have is to vote the board off at the AGM (General election) but the problem is there are no directors with alternative views.

I really hope UKIP get in later this year (after I've had a chance to hive my money offshore somewhere).

Legislation to tie the hands of future Governments is always a bad thing. The Coalition have done this a couple of times. It is wrong for this Government to commit the next Government to spending.
While I agree in principal to the 0.7% of GDP target, in practice it appears funding is being dished out to countries, not on genuine need, but to hit the 0.7% target.
