alba......thank goodness for a simple and "to the point " answer......i had almost given up.
Sqad, where do you get "accelerating" from ? Accelerating or not, the reasons are economic. Note that some white areas are now attracting immigrants. Why is that, do you think?
Fred, perhaps I should move out and go and live in a city or large town for a year or two, then move back to where I now live. And then perhaps I would give you the answer that you obviously want, going by your thinly veiled insinuations.
One need not necessarily be scared, one need only to feel uncomfortable to consider moving. Some don't mind, for others the feeling that they are a stranger is a major issue. We are all different.
Of course, Sqad, the reasons may include pure racism and xenophobia too, but I would hate to think my compatriots are blighted with that. Moving home can be a very expensive business.
Fred

\\\\\Sqad, where do you get "accelerating" from ?\\\\

From the link given by the OPer.........read it.

\\Accelerating or not, the reasons are economic.\\

Not sure what you mean by "economic"......but you are respect that comment, without agreeing with it .

\\Note that some white areas are now attracting immigrants.\\\

That has nothing to do with the question of the OP, but i will answer it.

Multifactorial, but because jobs which white will not do, become available to immigrants and maybe that whites moving out have left accommodation for immigrants to move into.
tonyav, you can avoid of all "insinuations", whether thinly veiled or not, existant or not, by answering. What are the reasons, ascribable only to immigrants, rather than, say, moving to a better house, that you have ?

Exactly.
^existent^ !
Fred, to me in my case is just supposition, it hasn't happened yet and it's unlikely to for the foreseeable anyway.
don't forget though, that any person moving into an area, whether they be black, blue, yellow or sky-blue pink might be better off joining in any community and the community should also try welcoming them.
Then perhaps integration might work wonders.

Don't forget, the new folk might be equally scared, worried or xenophobic too.
We did live in London when I was little Tony, then my parents split up, my Dad moved to Worcestershire ( because my one brother is in London looking after things there) and it's nearer to Birmingham where he is. We live in the middle of nowhere at the moment because my mother's boyfriend is Scottish and a bit of a lone wolf who isn't keen on cities, I have no objection though and neither does my mother, but I guess the answer to the question is that people live in the nicest places they can afford, but I don't equate race with 'nice'- there are two Asian familes in a very small hamlet here ( one runs the local shop and the other a nearby restaurant) and it's still a very nice place to live obviously.
I don't know if I would leave my area if I found myself in the 'minority

You would if you were watching the house value plummet
the answer to the question is that people live in the nicest places they can afford,

Exactly, Sharinghan.
You would if you were watching the house value plummet

Another exactly, Ric. ror.
that presumes and assumes that folk live in mortgaged or paid for properties.
(Not having a pop, just saying)
If, in rented accommodation, you'd be stuck.
(Not you personally, maybe one would be stuck)
Yes you are quite right with what you are saying alba, it does seem to assume that all people are home owners.
I thought most folk were homeowners
Not trying to be contentious - just genuinely did
I did, for my kids education. They missed out on learning hindi, gujrati and the koran - ooooh shock horror :(
I missed out on that as well, tambo, gawd I don't know how I've got through life !.
