/// Your a bit late AOG. ///

That will teach me for considering this a major news item and not just one for idle chatter.
For MT I have none sara3 so I'm not going to pretend that I do just because she has finally shuffled off this mortal coil.

Mrs_o my reasons are just that - my reasons.
As sara has already stated jno and missn, its called respect for the dead.
quite correct, aog. It is a proper news story.
A lady with the courage of her convictions. RIP.
missnemesis - ok, if you don't want to explain, fair enough.

miss n no one is asking you to pretend anything. It's a situation where the old addage 'if you haven't got anything good to say, don't say anything' applies.
I didn't respect her while she was alive (nor did she respect me); it would be pure hypocrisy to change my views now.
But is there any obligation to share them? Again, it's just plain rude to speak ill of the dead.
this is a public forum and people are free to air their views on it.
rude to who, jim?
Why is that Zac's? Is AB only for nice agreeable answers?
Did you know her jno?
To the dead, mainly. Those who will mourn someone's death should be entitled to do so, those who do not need not say anything. I don't see why this is such a difficult thing to grasp. It's just plain disrespectful and always has been.
A lost cause, I'm afraid.
I daren't go and read what they are saying in CB but to address the above, no one minds constructive criticism but most critics of MrsT just descend into vitriolic name calling. Quite a lot of MrsT haters have no direct experiece of the times that she was active and have just been taught to hate her by a generation of lefty teachers and socialist comentators who hated her for exposing their flawed idiology.
Although I was a huge fan, I respect the fact that everyone is entitled to their opinion and there is no need for folks to turn nasty over this
JNO, I didn't do a news thread, I did an RIP thread, ergo I think the CB location perfectly apt.
mazie: no, I didn't mean personally. I have nothing against her personally. It's her actions I disliked. I have already given one example.
NoM, that's fine; I was just saying that it's unreasonable to rebuke aog for beginning a thread here.
