Car Bonnet lever release not opening

Hi, I have a Toyota Camry sedan 1989 model .
When I pull the lever to open the bonnet, you do not hear it Can anybody advise on what I need to do to open it. Many thanks.

try getting someone to push down on the bonnet around where the catch is while someone else pulls the lever, dont do this to hard as you mught obviously dent the bonnet. This has worked on my vauxhall calibra and astra so will hopefully work for you
