I have a crunch from 1st to 2nd gear in my VW golf.

Is this due to it being rallied by the previous owner??

And is it safe to nearly redline it in 1st gear 99% of the time??

And will this baby still pull well in the years to come??

Thanks in advance

Probably from someone thrashing it, yes, unless this is just wear and tear as car old markII 1992 latest I think.

I was told not to redline in first by a mechanic but can't remember why.

Have it checked, but these cars are very resilient so should last with minimal cost.

Ditch it. Get a VTS.
