Why don't the contestants dress up in their best togs before appearing on these shows?

I wouldn't go down the garden in the clothes that they wear.

I can understand it in ''The Weakest Link', they don't want to out-dress Anne Robinson, (which wouldn't be hard)

That's what I thought about 15 to 1 but it was just a clapping machine. I don't think you see the audience in The Chase so it might be the same.
