well done squarebear, i used to love 15-1, goos luck with The Chase to, like mazie if I was braver i'd like to try that one.
I do agree that some contestants leave a lot ot be desired in the general knowledge stakes, and if i was on telly I think I would make the effirt to dress nicely too!
I completed the application form for The Chase recently, they want to know so much! - I almost didn't bother as I kept on getting interrupted whilst trying to complete it, but struggled on, now it's just a case of sit back and wait :)
Many failed contestants have said "I am normally very good at general knowledge, and can answer most questions when I am at home, but with all the lights and the tension my mind went completely blank".
Excuses or the truth? But it must be daunting standing up there in the studio knowing that thousands are watching your every movement.
Excuses I would say. I wasn't phased by the cameras and don't see how it can just turn you into a dribbling loon. However, there was no studio audience when I was on TV. That might make a difference.
Sorry yes, the thread does seem to have gone off course.
I wore a smart pair of trousers and a shirt, as though I was going out for a meal say. They only asked that I didn't wear anything with advertising on, so no football shirts etc.
