I think it was Sharon Duce who was in a couple of series with Ray Brooks in the 80's and 90's. I believe she was also in London's Burning.

Was thinking more recent and thanks to your help looked up her name and she was in emmerdale as Mrs Rudge and took over the post office when viv was away, had her eye on bob. Thank you.
