I seem to recall that Michelle Obama once got some stick for touching Queen Elizabeth.

A butterfly?
that must be touching the old gals bottom

The King used to touch for Kings Evil - I think Johnson was ( of dictionary fame) one of the last - last done I think 1717
The standard ABer ( not you not you) is so flop-headed they never bovva to look it up
Cutaneous TB - rash was 'apple jelly'
and blanched on compression wivva microscope slide

you never see it now ( cutaneous TB)

(Time for a thousand Abers to raise their heads from the table and exclaim - wwhat the funicular!)
He was a prince at the time. It's probably OK to touch them, besides which no-one really cares anyway.
Didn't Paul Keating (Aussie PM at the time) put his arm around the Queen back in the day?

Thanks PP, your posts rarely fail to brighten my day :-)
canary - nice to hear you tweet
have a good day
Not much of an issue really given the inconvenience of lugging a bargepole about the place.
The program was filmed in two chunks, several months apart. I think if the Prince (as he was at the time) had felt there was any problem there would have been a quiet word before the second set of filming.
I watched the programme and Charles has happy and relaxed throughout. If he objected to being touched Jay would very quickly have been told.
Noli me tangeri, could be the new royal motto.
Dear God, we're still in the dark ages apparently! Who does he think he is? Does he think he'll catch some deadly disease if a common person touches him?
Charles didn't complain, he genuinely seemed to enjoy Jay's company
Somebody who seems to have a love for your country that made him care enough to save a house and contents being sold and sets up apprenticeship for people to learn skills

He is the KING and I don't want my monarch to be the same as anyone else.

No touching would be essential as in "modern" GB, one never knows what will be in the next person's hand.
I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole!
I guess that won't worry him overly^
"I'm the King of the Castle, get down you dirty rascal" Some things never change.

It would if he needed CPR & I was the only one around! LOL

I'm not sure that I would particularly like perfect strangers mauling me about, would you.
no - I guess you're right. Better he stay shut up in one of his many castles/house.
