As someone who has gone through life spelling my surname and still having it written wrongly (and it's a very short one), I cringe at people who give their child a common name but spell it differently "to be different".
Like many genius types Musk doesn't appear to have much common sense.
Still, the kid can change it in the future when he inherits his parents millions. In the mean time he is likely to be at school with a load of others who have been dumped with an unfortunate moniker.
I'm afraid it is not restricted to celebrities, although I wouldn't class the nutter Musk as a celeb.
There are plenty of the me me me generation who treat their kids as accessories. As a parent of a me me me I have seen this first hand with her chums (She does not have a child just yet but the signs are she will follow).
My daughter is expecting a baby in a few weeks time and is still undecided on a name. I can't wait to hear what she has to say when I tell her about this name. Well I would tell her if I could pronounce it!
There's a world wide media campaign against Musk at the moment.
And he likes to take the P out of SJW types on twitter.
Maybe that accounts for the media campaign.
Don't lose any sleep over this 'poor' boy.
He's one of the luckiest people in the world.
bhg: "As someone who has gone through life spelling my surname and still having it written wrongly" - yep me too! I have the NATO phonetics ingrained! We have Indian guys at work with names 30 chars long, gawd knows how they manage!
