Dreadful, those poor people.
So sad, I've only just heard.
I see that President Trump has a full and considered assessment of the circumstances, advising that it has quote "... little to do with American gun laws …" and suggesting that an armed guard inside the synagogue may have saved lives.

It may - but do we want to go down the road where houses of worship are protected by armed men?

I suggest that President Trump is the teensiest bit off beam with his view that the incident has 'little to do with American gun laws' - when we can say without fear of contradiction that the tacit encouragement of gun culture in America is positively encouraged by its gun laws.

I find it, slightly, easier to understand that someone hates a segment of society so badly that they want to kill them or shooting at people randomly for no apparent reason at all.

It is so sad either way
Awful, so very sad, so many lives lost with many more touched by this.
Well we already have houses of worship protected by the men and women of the French Army and Police particularly in Paris and Synagogues. It seems, now, to have stemmed the insatiable blood lust of their hitherto Muslim guests. Where needs must.
The most recent update is the body count is at least 4 fatalities may be eight.
This shooting has been designated now a 'hate crime' so the FBI gets to investigate and prosecute the case should it come to trial. Does that mean, should the surviving alleged suspect be found guilty, that the FBI will be allowed to administer a larger electric current on 'old sparky' as it is now a 'hate crime'?? Sheeesh.
Eleven Fatalities and six injured on latest BBC News update. Four Police Officers shot.
// It may - but do we want to go down the road where houses of worship are protected by armed men? //

what is this 'we' bit?

anyway they had a resident gun man apparently - er only in America as the Trump lovers on Ab would say
// It seems, now, to have stemmed the insatiable blood lust of their hitherto Muslim guests.//

um.... I think the gunman / shooter in Pittsburgh is a blue eyed Aryan. but hell he may not be Robert Bauers but some brown skinned shifty eyed killer ....

Only one thing good enough for evil savages like this. Short rope long drop.
Did anyone hear him saying Allah o Akbar or not? Or did anyone find copy of Quran in his pocket? Or does anyone know if he converted to Islam aboout 10 seconds before he started shooting?

If not, then don't worry about it, its not that important news.
keyplus, he seems to have blamed Jews from inviting Muslim extremists to town. (This may be laying the groundwork for a defence of mental incapacity.)
//(This may be laying the groundwork for a defence of mental incapacity.)//

And why not indeed. This the first label attached to every Jihadi terrorist, who slaughters in European cities, by the authorities.
They trot that one out before they have even identified the perpetrator and investigated his antecedents and motives. The perp had mental problems but we 're still trying to establish the identity!!!
another waste of life, when will the Americans learn, never it would seem!
//Did anyone hear him saying Allah o Akbar or not?//

No, I think he was shouting “flobadob flobadob”
The alleged gunman has links to far right Neo -Natzi organisations in America so was more likely to be shouting Heil Hitler.
There are literally hundreds of shootings in the USA every day. They are so common as not to be newsworthy. Only the worst ones even get a mention in the news.Hardly surprising when the 'Right to bear arms ' is part of the constitution.
Hmm
“The right to bear arms”
It certainly seems to.

Most shootings wherever are rarely “random”. There’s usually a reason for the choice of venue, however “unreasonable”.
