Do you like the event?

What do you like about it?

Are children's "WANT"S got out of control?

Do I like the Festive season?

I do until I read about the evil in the world.

Afternoon, Sweetie...... I love the atmosphere at Christmas.....and all the bling and decorations and sharing. I don't have any I wanters in my life so present giving and receiving is fun and not over the top. I have a sadness this year for a few reasons including knowing I won't be having fun chats and silly exchanges with MrsO and Psybbo......I miss them both...

No because I don't allow it
Yes- family, friends and parties. No- none of mine have asked for anything and you don't have to give them everything they want anyway.
I like it because I like turkey more than presents - I like the fact that I will be able to eat turkey for days and then get another for new years day - did I mention I like turkey.
I like Xmas for kids under 6(ish) because they dont understand & the excitement is real - after that age childrens greed for 'things' is really off putting for me.
I dont subscribe to the commercial festive season but I had a real feeling of Xmas a few years ago at a local Xmas fayre where the atmosphere and the cold weather was just about right.
Forget the evil at least for a few days - revel in the good of humanity for a while - its by far the larger percentage of human beings.

No.
Nothing
No, not in my house.
No.

I stopped doing xmas when my dad died.
Kids (some ) inability to be grateful for presents at Xmas annoys me, and I no longer put up with it. Its either Thanks or no present. That is the way that my parents brought up myself and my brothers, and I'm not sure when or why it changed.

I am having my "festive" drink tonight, which will be nice. But apart from a few hours on Xmas day itself, it certainly doesn't hold the wonder it did when Mum and Dad were alive, and we were all younger.

I often think about my passed brother at this time Micky, the eldest lived in Bridgend before going out to OZ as a £10 pom, David Alexandra song,

"If I could see the Rhonda one more time" it puts a lump in my throat.
Christmas is a time when we think about those we have lost and shared special times with - the first Christmas after my Husband died was on autopilot - but we made it through.

I tend to feel sad at this time of year as well.

An old lady, who lived a few doors away died yesterday. I use to give her lift into the Village every now and then. These things always seem to happen at Xmas.
TWR....No, No, yes No and now my add on.

The obligatory dinner parties with repetitive and idle small talk have been avoided, probably because we haven't been invited.
The working class are still talking about "the bloody good pissups" and awaiting the arrival of their credit card statements, half of the middle classes are still eulogising over "a wonderful family get-together," the other half wondering what to do with the unwanted and totally inappropriate presents whilst the upper class and privileged are returning from their break in the sun.
And so ends the religious festival of 2016-----Am already looking forward to Xmas 2017 with trembling excitation.

Keep taking the Pills Sqad lol lol xx
I like Christmas because my boy comes home, and I usually see my sister for the only time in the year - not this year though, unfortunately.

It makes me sad thinking about people who won't be going home. As I said on another thread not long ago, my son's best friend died earlier this year in his 20s. I can't bear the thought that we won't see him, and I can't imagine what his mum is going through.

This will be the third Christmas without my mum. Somehow, we made it through the others.

So, Christmas can be happy and sad. We have to make the most of what we've got.
What planet is Sqad on....??
Shut up and get ***!
