Be serious - they perhaps mean how much does it cost to make - say - a 10 note?
Less than it does to lose money?
Have a look here - it may answer your questions (I haven't read it)

BTW, I live just a mile from where they are printed.

iv always thought that a once pence coin would cost more than one pence to manufacture due to the material, template, design, machinery etc :-) but i guess its economies of scale....
It doesn't seem there's a lot of info about this, but I have found a claim that a 10 note costs around 3p to make, probably due to the massive number in production.

Coins however can become a problem and although the Royal Mint won't say how much UK coins cost, there is a problem in America currently whereby the cost of producing the American Penny is getting very close to it's face value. Even UK coins could do that, except we make them from steel & brass, whereas the American ones are made from zinc.
to make a lot of money costs us a bloody lifetime.
all depends of what features are on it amount of ink size of the note, and so on

aprox 15 per 1000 notes
