Broken Double Glazed Window

In an ongoing neighbour dispute my neighbour has reported me to the police for smashing his window - but having looked closely the pane that is broken is on the inside in his kitchen! The police want to interview me but have taken photos from the outside which clearly shows the outside pane is intact.

Question - is there any way an inside pane would get broken by someone hitting the outside of the window?

I think it might be possible. Think of Newton's cradle where a ball hitting one end of a row of balls causes the ball at the other end to move - the shock wave travels through all the central balls and acts on the last one. Similarly an object hitting the outside pane of a window will send a shock wave through the air-gap and then push on the inside glass. It feels not very likely but possible.
Don't know but assuming you didn't hit there window just say that...hard to see how they could waste any time on it
Are there any shards of glass in the air gap between both windows? if so, probably broken from the inside.
bhg... I was thinking along the same lines, but with a Sonic Weapon of some kind.

Mind you, the thought of Lankeela hanging around by a neighbour's window with a Sonic Gun or a newton's Cradle might be a tad unlikely.

;o)
Simply throwing a ball at the outside glass could send a shockwave to the inner glass.

I didn't touch it, and its obvious to me he has hit it from the inside to put the blame on me (shows how stupid he is). It is cracked from top to bottom but didn't look close enough to see if there is any glass shards but will have another look.

This is the neighbour who sprayed superglue into my door lock (twice, after I had it fixed the first time not realising what had been done to it). Lots of other damage/theft that I could not prove and after an altercation when he was filming me from his bedroom window I ended up with a caution for calling him a f***** c*** after I called the police to report him!
When I was at RAF Cranwell (I think it was Cranwell, I've been on many RAF bases) I got to see the windscreen from a Tornado IDS that had been involved in a bird strike. The bird had hit the glass so hard it had made a perfect impression (full wing span) through several layers. The outer layer was undamaged. It was extremely impressive to see.
Crikey Lankeela! What on earth started all that?

I don't think I would be capable of hitting it with anything be it sub sonic, sonic or supersonic!
The outside pane of my Mum's window shattered in the cold weather recently. No impact needed.

Sometimes people have shower screens or glass coffee tables that suddenly disintegrate. It's something to do with internal stress left from the manufacturing process.
Your neighbour sounds like a complete pane.
No,Douglas, it's an incomplete pane he's making all the fuss about.

He complains about my dogs, who do bark when there is something to bark at eg postman, binman or dog over the back barking at my fence - he reported them to the council who installed monitoring equipment in his house and deemed them not to be a nuisance but he has constantly been reporting me to the council, police, RSPCA, my housing association and when this came to a head last year I ended up with a caution and had to write an apology for swearing at him - now got to go to the police station on Thursday to answer his complaint of criminal damage! I am determined to put a stop to this once and for all and will be reporting him for harassment.
What a nightmare!
Never talk to the Old Bill without a legal representative. At the very least record what was said and have someone present.

Never go to a Police station unless arrested and then again done say a word (apart from I want a solicitor).
no
rely on obvious common sense

I did not do this because I did not - oh and by the way, have you seen the inner pane is broken which raises reasonable doubt about the whole thing

remember to say ( I was involved like this) that you know you dont have to do anything, they have to show you broke it

be prepared for a PIN notice - you agree not to go near them - decide whether you are gonna accept one, or marshall arguments against beforehand

do you want me there as note taker and great-uncle?
You can record the interview in your house without permission,
if you can woggle it ( not obviously turn on the phone)

I have always done a summary after they leave - like 30s after. Takes about an hour.

do NOT go in to the ins and outs of sonic shocks - just say nope not me. ( and remember that YOU dont have to show it wasnt you, THEY have to show it WAS)

do not a give a TRUE explanation - you know all this dates back to 1923 when my grandmothers sow bit his father in law and it took ages to heal. THEN during rationing ....
I love lateral thinking
but TTT's is a bit off the wall

You didnt drive a car at the window, did you?
