Do men still religiously wash their cars down every Sunday morning.
Then leave them standing highly polished on the drive ,
.......to impress their neighbours ?.

no, my neighbours are too far away to see my rolls royce
not I sir. E European car wash every couple of months £6

My neighbour religiously washes his car before its MOT as it makes it more likely it will get through
does he use holy water?
Men used to do that to get out of the house in case they were asked to fix something or help with the dinner. Those days are long gone.

D/B 11.08.... £6 ......?.
I have a neighbour who has obsessive compulsive disorder. She has a twelve year old Land Rover which looks better than the day it left the showroom. Every time she takes it out it is immediately washed as soon as she returns (even if it’s dark and/or raining). As well as this, it gets “thoroughly washed” at least once a week. The wheels are scrubbed; the upholstery cleaned; the loose mats removed and vacuumed. Sometimes she will wash the car twice in one day. She's the same with the house windows - they can be cleaned up to three times in a week. The problem caused her marriage to collapse. Her new partner cannot live with her. He visits and stays for a night or two but that’s as much as he can take. That seems to work for them, but it’s very sad.

On a more cheerful note, another neighbour washes three cars (and sometimes four) religiously every Sunday. He’s doing so now, even though it’s drizzling with rain. He washes his own, his wife’s and his daughter’s. On some occasions his son, who lives elsewhere, will visit and he'll wash his car too.

Mine gets taken to the hand car wash in Tesco’s when I can no longer see through the windows. It costs £7 plus the price of a Flat White in the Costa Cafe whilst I'm waiting.
i have the staff do it.
^that'll be the cost...remember £6 is six pounds Sterling.
£6 for the car wash when I think the old jalopy needs it. Full valet twice a year.
I have two neighbours like that, forever washing down their cars most days not just Sunday's. But you should see their cars, talk about rust buckets!!!! Lol.
"Wash"? "Car"? In the same sentence? Sorry, I just don't understand!
My husband hasn't washed a car in years.
My car gets a good clean with every twelve month service.
Apart from that it's strictly weddings and funerals.
It gets washed when it really needs it and the mud from country lanes gets embarrassing. It also is full of coats dog stuff and other bits and pieces.

It got washed last week because it got covered in sahara sand in the high winds which totally covered the windscreen
No sir

I had a mini valet done yesterday by the local East Europeans car emporium.

The pigeon sh it on the paintwork was getting a bit embarrassing

The previous time the motor had soap splashed over it was back in August 2020.

Make that Aug 2021
baz: "The pigeon sh it on the paintwork was getting a bit embarrassing" - when a bird sheets on my car I never take her out again.
//Mine gets taken to the hand car wash in Tesco’s when I can no longer see through the windows//

NJ lol
That was also a reason why I had mine cleaned yesterday
