Iv'e found that expensive chemicals that are suppose to "repel" cats and dogs from using my garden as a toilet don't work. So without going to the extra expense of buying an air gun does anyone have any other remedies. Thanks.

Cats don't attack random strangers?
I wonder what sort of animal it was that clawed the heck out of me when I entered my own workshop a few weeks ago to collect a shovel to pick up the mutilated birds in my backyard.

Blimey.....Is everyone having a particularly challenging Monday?

Would the nutter be Elmer Fudd?
Well it stopped them (I did have brother and sister) being out all night hunting our wildlife which I am as fond of as I was my cats Baldric. And dawn when the birds first awake and are very hungry they are more likely to take risks and that's when cats strike. My boy in particular didn't like being kept in but he got used to it in a very short time. I had a cat flap and it was set that once they came in after a certain time (just before dusk) they couldn't get out again until I let them out the next day. I belonged to a group of bird watchers so it would have been a bit hypocritical of me not to have made an effort to reduce the slaughter at the very least I thought.
Nah...He hunts Wabbits
//// So Canary, you think cats should be kept indoors?////

Kept within their owner's premises, certainly (or kept on a lead when outside the same). If the owners premises are totally indoors, then a toilet tray is a solution. The only reason for cats running free is to satisfy their pre-domestication hunting instincts - these have to be suppressed/contained in dogs, so why not in cats too.
I tried to lock my cats in once, and they decimated the catflap - Black Spot was halfway up the garden with the frame round his middle.....
Okay. I've never seen a cat attack a random stranger for no reason whereas I was bitten by a dog for just walking down the street.

Lol Boxy
Great pet Boxtops, makes me wish I had one.

Hee Hee Baldric..
Well the cat flap wasn't fitted properly then boxy. Of course they don't like it and will put up a fight, both mine did, but they got used to it and accepted it. Cats shouldn't be out all night anyway, it is the most dangerous time for them as well.
I have a rabbit....they are NOT the cute things people make them out to be.
Once again Ummmm, the actions of an irresponsible pet owner.
In Oz it is illegal to have a dog in a public area that is not on a leash. There are designated areas where dogs are permitted "off leash". At least people have the decision whether or not to visit these areas.
Call Elmer..
Rabbits are ok for eating though.
I bent down to stroke a cat in the street one day. It looked so sweet. It ripped my fingers to bits the little b. Blood all down my clothes.
Ozzy...this dog was tied up outside a shop. The owner just didn't tie it properly. Not really the dogs fault, or the owner, they thought they'd done right. I bet after that the owner made sure the dog was secure.

It made me wary of dogs though. Can't say I've ever been scared of a cat in the street.
some animals like to play some don't see the point
