As we are both non-smokers,and lived in our house for over sixty years is there any new law to help us with our neighbours who smoke but only smoke in the garden next to their fence which is about three feet away from our patio doors,so when thesun is out we have our patio door open and then find we can smell smoke in our garden which drifts into our front room.
I have had a word with the lady next door to ask them if they could go down to the bottom of the garden to smoke but all they have done is to pull there table to nearer their patio door and still smoke,we can still smell the smoke.
What if anything can I do,I have done them a few favours in the past ,all I ask is one favour ?????

as a non-smoker people who take the moral high ground tend to get on my nerves a tad, by all means , ask them but there isn't a lot you can do , it being their property.
BOO...I am going for a shower now.........I have been winding you up a bit. ;-)
I don`t see why someone should have to put up with the smell of someone else`s fag smoke in their house. BBQs are one thing because they are occasional, but fag smoke can be constant. It sure can travel too. I`ve just come back from holiday where the people in the apartment underneath us smoked and we could smell in on the balcony. Didn`t bother me too much because it didn`t come inside.
The only thing to do would be to appeal again to their better nature if they have one.
And now Bobbs! Start pooping it sqad, now you're in big trouble :P
sorry lottie, I support the smokers right to smoke in their own garden

well with the winter coming, like the bbqs, the outside smoking may have to be taken indoors until next summer
Hah! And now Cazzz!
So ner ner ner ner!

Sorry dodds, for making a bit of a mockery of your post. I apologise.

Always best to live without any neighbours. Nearly true in my case! Only one mad fool next door, but he is far enough away and the others are much further!! Next house will have none whatsoever if I had my way!!
And me BOO :-)

My Grandad was killed by cigarettes. He got hit by a car trying to cross the road to get a packet.
I smoke in the house....it stops the sodding neighbours coming round.......
lmao craft, brilliant!

So do I craft1948, but with the opposite effect. The hungry b@stards are forever at my door greeding my tabs off me.
Just be grateful you don't live next door to me. I just had a minor fire in my outside ashtray (think the wind got under it). Boy did that stink. Although it was quite funny to watch the bf dash round the house to see where the fire was as I quietly snuck outside with a glass of water to chuck on it.
Sneaks back in. Please don't any of you smokers tell me you have ashtrays with fag ends in the bathroom. My S.I.L. does and it makes me feel really ill. It's just so very disgusting..........................

Enjoy your smoking and make sure you nourish your wrinkly skin!! ;o)
I have an ashtray in the bathroom. It's called the bog.
Oh Mike, that is so disgusting. The very thought of it makes me heave!! In one relations house I used to go to there was always a couple of cigarette ends floating in the loo and the painwork had turned yellow with nicotine. The whole bathroom smelt of stale smoke!!
