Smoking

As we are both non-smokers,and lived in our house for over sixty years is there any new law to help us with our neighbours who smoke but only smoke in the garden next to their fence which is about three feet away from our patio doors,so when thesun is out we have our patio door open and then find we can smell smoke in our garden which drifts into our front room.
I have had a word with the lady next door to ask them if they could go down to the bottom of the garden to smoke but all they have done is to pull there table to nearer their patio door and still smoke,we can still smell the smoke.
What if anything can I do,I have done them a few favours in the past ,all I ask is one favour ?????

on the same hand though lottie, would you not have a bbq in the summer in case the smells drift over the fence?

Cazz, smoke from bbq in the summer wouldn't worry me at all. In fact, I might invite myself to the bbq, but smoke from ciggies is a bit different. I have to admit that if it's only a couple of ciggies from a couple of people then it can't be that bad.
