I'll let his sis know in the morning about the flood of messages here and just how warm that they are........that is the best message that we in the AB community can convey to them and to Mikey's memory, so thanls.
Tills, For Mickey. Can our organised members set up something whereby we can show our respects to Him, whether a fund or something to mark our appreciation and respect without being maudlin in any way? The Ed may need to be involved of course, if a donation is the decision. Can we be kept informed on a dedicated thread of when necessary arrangements including dates and locations? This feels so wrong, and at the same time so close. I know that I am asking in a roundabout way for our lady members to bring us into line. But can you not? I am also aware that Mickey's immediate family must be our first concern. I am sure we can show our respect without being obtrusive if we join together for him.
Very shocked and saddened to hear this news about Mikey. I always admired that he was a man of principle, and stood his ground against any and all on here who wanted to argue with him, and never lost his sense of humour or perspective.
He and I shared a love of opera, and exchanged several posts about our favourites, and great performances we'd seen. After one of our enthusiastic discussions, he posted one of his favourite singers, Renée Fleming, singing one of his (and my) favourite parts of any opera: the final trio from Der Rosenkavalier. So I'm posting it back for him with the deepest respect, and condolences to his friends and family.
