Philip II married four times to

a) Maria Manuela of Portugal

b) Mary Tudor of England

c) Elizabeth of Valois (in France) and

d) to Anne of Austria.

Oh, Mary What....

I had to read the q a few times to get the sense. Philip II was a bit of cold fish - Felipe - i should say. The escorial is worth a visit to get an idea of what the old boy was like.

Some Houses have surnames - Tudor, Stuart, and some dont, House of Orange, House of Anjou. The Brits ust have to knuckle down and learn the list, at skool.

The current House of WIndsor dont have surnames. Chuck and Anne just go around with a batch of Christian names. I note Princess Eddie before he became Earl of Wessex used to call himself Edward WIndsor.

I thought Mary Tudor was Henry's sister. Isn't Queen Mary just known as Mary I?
