Well, you go to the counter, order your meal, take it to a table; and after eating it, put the rubbish in the bin and the tray on top - sounds like self service to me.... unless you three know of one with waiter/waitress service?

Ralph, I think self service is where you actually choose and take the food yourself, like in a cafe in Debenhams or summat. Its not to do with who takes your rubbish and plates away.

McDonalds does not actually portray itself as a fast food outlet, it sees itself as a restaurant as you will be told by any half intelligent member of McDonalds staff when you complain about the time it has taken for them to get your order and you pose the statement (Angry Customer) " And you lot call yourself a fast food restaurant", (Smarmy uneducated member of staff) " No Sir, Actually we are a restaurant"
