The one and only time I deseeded a pomegranate I covered myself and half the kitchen in splashes of the juice. Nice as it was, thereafter Ive bought the little containers of seeds that someone else has bashed out.
Funnily enough, I've just made a salad of chunky chopped cucumber, celery, spring onions, red and yellow peppers, and pomegranate seeds. I've given lettuce the push and that's the salad we now how most often.
Don't get pithed off Tilly, buy it ready bashed ;)
Eating a pomegranate segment by segment is the ideal way to occupy small children healthily. They suck the pulp from around the pith and put the pips into a bowl - at the end, they each count them and have to agree on the total! Takes them ages. :0)
My Grandad taught me how to eat an apple with a penknife Tills. Slice by slice off the back of the blade. Imagine that now. Social Services would have me up for adoption.
