Went shopping earlier and left cash and bank card on coffee table.

Managed to get a few bits n bobs needed, phew!

I'm in the habit of checking contents of purse before I do go into shop, so no major faux pas.

Do you have a ritual/habit before you go into a shop?

Question Author
lol Anne, I tried being sensible once, worst 10 minutes of my life :-)
Nothing eccentric, just pause on the threshold and say a quiet prayer to our Lord and Master Satan before turning nine times widdershins and walking in on the seventh minute of the hour.
Jim. You've been to Sto-lat shopping arcade then?
Question Author
aha!! now I know what to call the 'normal' person outside my supermarket Jim :-D x
I done a full shop once and only realised at the checkout that I'd left my purse behind. They were really good about it and let me re-bag my frozen stuff and stored it in the freezer for me until I returned.

I've also left my car in the supermarket car park forgetting I'd driven there...

I'm sure you won't be alone on either of those ummm.

Makes life interesting doesn't it?!
Hi alba,
Yes, I do a credit card check/ loyalty card, and have them easily accessible to me.
How annoying by the way to have left yours x
A couple of times I have tapped my pocket to ensure my wallet is in there, only to find at payment time that it is my mobile phone.

Hi Ele xx

Just means I'll need to go back out tomorrow grr :-D

Lovely lass in corner shop (my first stop) offered to lend me dosh and get one of the young albas to pop into shop to repay her. Wouldn't hear of it, but a most lovely thought.

Hoppy, Mr Alba has done that but the other way round lol
I kicked myself last week in Sainsbury's. About £20 worth of shopping had gone thru the till. But my card(s) were nowhere to be seen. I'd taken them with me to the local shop the previous evening, and instead of putting them back in my purse as I always do, I'd put them in my jacket pocket...doh! That included my savings card so I couldn't even get some cash out.
Luckily I had cash on me, but I felt mortified digging out every last bit of change.
My never-not-do ritual is to always make sure my keys are in my hand as I shut the front door...that can be an expensive mistake.

Pasta, I feel your pain, both on the shop front and the keys!!

(How is your Brother in New York? it is you who has a bro in NY who had some terrible weather experiences a few years ago or am I getting my Ab'ers muddled again?)
