My workmate went round to his intended's familly for them to give him the once over .

He told me that it went well by all accounts , apart from the comment , that he was too short .

He is around 5 feet - nevertheless , that wasn't very nice , was it ?

Let's hope they weren't serving shrimp...
So they gave him short shrift?

I can't understand what their problem is - their grandchildren will always be the last to know when it's raining...

....and I don't mean the intended's family...

The marriage as far as I am aware is still intended for some time next year - I hope so anyway - i've never been to an asian wedding before
Maybe you won't get invited. What height are you?
Question Author
LOL - Can you imagine on the wedding invitations - rsvp , including your height and girth.

I'll be invited , he is a good friend of mine
I'm sure you will Bazile, and remember, he'll be marrying her, not the in-laws, please give them both my best wishes.

Will do

Goodnight
Seems like a pretty shallow observation. If it was me (as the 'suitor') I would have met the comment with an equally shallow response eg. "yes, but I am well proportioned in the trouser department". That would probably have satisfied them.
Get Shorty ! recently seen Danny de Vito in the Sunshine Boys now he really is short.
How tall is the bride ? is this a love marriage or an arranged marriage ? if its the latter then he must be rich.
Poor chap he must have felt deflated !
I should imagine he has dealt with similar stuff before, and would have gone ready to do it again.

Napoleon wasn't a tall guy...
I have had some of my best fun with short men.... they try harder
Was he a metre reader
Or did he play the piano after all you can have a lot of fun with a 12" pianist
venator - Napoleon wasn't short, that was how he was portrayed in a cartoon of the time and is how we have mistakenly thought of him in this country ever since. This was on QI and I think it was said that he was 5' 7" which was a respectable height for that time.
