I am just waiting for the someone to say that

"A Levels were much harder in my day "
A levels were much harder in my day
Yeah, probably.
None of my friends have any A levels - are they some foreign concept?
so proud of my granddaughter she got a distinction ,a c and a d not great you may think but she took these the week she found out her dad had a terminal illness .
They actually were harder. In the 60s a friend of mine was offered a place at university provided he got at least two Es.
Are the TV crews hanging around waiting to interview as the results are being perused.....with the usual erudite comments..."well, like, yeah, fantastic, yeah, happy, wicked, yeah, like"?
A young family member has done extremely well, really pleased for her.
My son got 2 B's in English (he's only half way through though) and ungraded for history. His teacher is getting his paper remarked because there is no way it should be ungraded. History is his best subject...
what's ungraded, ummmm? Is that like failed?

Way back when, jno jnr got shockingly bad marks, as did quite a few people in his class. Nobody could understand it - he knew he'd done well. It was the year before the scandal over bad marking broke; he probably just got an early version of that. Anyway, he found a university to go to, a good one, and ended up with an MA. But it was awful at the time.
jno - a U. Complete fail as though he didn't turn up.

It should be rectified. His teacher was gobsmacked and said there's been a mistake.

mallyh...congrats are called for !
Blimey - maybe they lost the paper or something. In my experience, you know if you've failed an exam. Good luck to him.
On the TV news tonight we'll be shown images of buxom young lasses jumping up and down with delight as they get their results. Do plain girls not do well in 'A' Levels? And if they do why are they never shown?
jno....he's a clever clogs, there is no way he failed. He got B's in English without reading the books!
GD got ABB
