Thursday. The weather is back to normal, overcast with the promise of rain. Such is life.
I had a grand day out on my friends boat yesterday. We went into Gloucester docks and through the lock onto the Severn. The water was mill pond calm, no wind, lots of wild life to be seen. Our favourite pub was close, much to our astonishment and dismay, so we went another mile and a half to another pub we knew, but had not visited before. Very nice it was too! We will be going there again. After an excellent lunch and some equally excellent ale, we headed back down the river to Gloucester. We only saw three other boats all the way back. One of which had gone past the pub doing a lot more than 4 knots! When we passed him on the way back we saw the River police 'having a word' with him. He didn't look at all happy!
We got to the lock at about 5 O'Clock. took 20 minutes to get through.Waited in the docks for Llanthony Bridge, which was due to open at 5.30. An equally peaceful run back to their house, on the canal bank.
An excellent day.
Have a happy day everyone.
My friends wife was unable to join us as she was standing guard on grandchildren.

It's been a glorious day here, shame I've been hanging off a hoover for most of it. Washing and cleaning all done and dusted. A feeling of achievement washing over me, so I'm celebrating cleanliness ;-)
Just have some unpegging to do then dinner to prep.
