quote.. How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful (fatalistic apathy). The effects are apparent in many countries, improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.

Are the mourners at that funeral different from the congregations who crowd into mega churches in the American bible belt?
Not unlike the Cheltenham festival this year, except mainly ( white people). ! ,!

No difference. They are all eventually going to kill the good guys with their faith and anti-social behaviour. They are a law unto themselves and their God.
That lot,if infected could kill the world dead in short measure. The multiplication effect 2x2=4 4x4=16,16x16=256 256x256= and so on.
Anneasquith, but unlike the people this thread relates to, those at Cheltenham weren’t supposed to be on lockdown - so actually quite different.
I know it's not related but I'm sure I saw something on the news this morning that Sweden's herd immunity approach was working and that very few will have died. If this is the case I wonder why one country is affected differently to another, like Italy or Spain. Think it was on GMB.
Lockdown in the UK was ordered 10 days after Cheltenham had ended, Anne.
Kin stupid IMO.
Right, so the elderly are paying the price then :o(
Indeed ken, but if you recall many in the medical profession thought it should have been cancelled. Too late now :-(
Tigger, apart from that over 1,000 have died.
I wonder if the rate will go up over the next few weeks.
// which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful (fatalistic apathy).//

yeah like the fatalistic apathy that blew up 22 innocent little kiddies listening to Ariana

They may have a whatever-will-be - - will be - attitude
but some obviously feel they can help the inevitable - LIke Nasser - or Sadat hen I was there - incredibly he was a contemporary with Nasser and not a successor/protege

A more er 'mature' analysis from an Egyptian was that supremist movements occurred on average every 150 years and the Mahdist was one 1880 - and that 1980 we were just about due for another. Experts hahaha on AB may of course disagree !
