if I was to do a voluntary reposession on my vehicle how would it effect my credit score?

It shouldn't effect your score very much - but it may affect your chances of getting a HP agreement in the future. To be fair, most companies don't bother with "VT" on your CAIS information - just settled, which is not a problem. The only issue is if they do put "VT". - In the last 3 years I have seen only a handful of reported VTs.
