10,000 volts
I would have thought 10,000 volts would have made it stand on end!!! Anyway, what straighteners do you use? Are they ceramic (solid or coated). Solid ceramics will work on almost all hair, and also they are kinder to the hair. Teflon coated tend to damage the hair because they dont go through the hair smoothly. There are many products out there that help the straightening process. I use a frizz-eze one and Andrew Collinge - no kinks straightener. I am sure a salon would be able to offer some advice as well as I good look through the hair products at your local Boots.
My daughter swears by the 'proper' GHD strighteners. Her hair is fluffy rather than wavy but other straighteners dont straighten enough. The GHD ones do.
I used to iron mine in the 70's. It worked but probably a very bad idea indeed!
how the hell were you able to do it with an iron?!?!
Don't mean to be pessimistic but I've decided to abandon my straighteners for the rest of the Summer. I've tried all kinds of things but the humidity just makes my hair kinky almost as soon as I step away from the mirror! I've decided to embrace my curls (and I've actually had quite a few compliments - which is a bonus!). If your hair is slightly less bloody annoying than mine, you could try Tigi Control Freak - it's sort of a liquidy mousse and it normally works brilliantly.
