The opticians have rang me today wanting me to go back in after having a routine eye test. They want to put eyedrops in my eyes and have another look at my eyes. (the optician had a really good look at my eyes while I was there) Has anyone else had this and does it just involve a few eye drops?

I am having contact lenses fitted for the first time just after!!

Thank you

the drops dilate the pupils so that they can make sure that the initial assessment was correct, they are just eye drops, but they take about half an hour to work and the Optician told me when my daughter had these at the weekend that they take about 6-8 hours to wear off so she may experience headaches if trying to do any close work. Also if it is sunny or bright on the day, take sunglasses to wear as your pupils are dilated more and you may experience discomfort. You may or may not be able to drive after having these, I was able to, but my Mother who is in her 70's was not
I have had them many times , they dont sting or hurt in any way, your eyes may be yellow for a little while, but it soon wears off, they say dont drive for a couple of hours, but you will probably be ok to drive straight away.
