When you do a test for Covid, if it came back as positive, how would you know which variant it is?
I read today that a few cases have been found in Greater Manchester of the new variant, but how do they know?

Ha ha, well I believe you are one of the same and I think the others know this and are playing a part.
I am leaving this now as if I am making a fool of myself, I need to stop digging.
Have a lie down for a while :-)
I am not he - and he is not me
there must be something in the NT about that ( I know the Prof doesnt read the bible in greek - he is far too busy )

ὁ Πειλᾶτος καὶ ἐφώνησεν τὸν Ἰησοῦν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Σὺ εἶ ὁ Βασιλεὺς τῶν ...
and Pilate asked are you the King of the jews and Jesus answered....

bit biblical but that is not surprising - er it comes from the bible

Please do not ask an OAP law graduate if he is a prof of biochem
it irritates profs of biochem ....

(yeah yeah I dont mind and I suppose it makes profs wife chortle....)
have a lie down for a while - - who with hur hur hur
// Among all the twaddle posted,//
out of the mouth of babes
oh lord they know not what they say ( bible again)
Thank you Lie-in King.

Togo that's very useful advice. Thank you.

Somewhere, in a Galaxy far far away, there's someone who understands PP's posts.
Barsel, I think you're doing the prof - and those of us who value his knowledge here - a great disservice.
PP, //oh lord they know not what they say ( bible again) //

Nope. That would be 'they know not what they do'.
lgw / poiew - I didnt read Greats....

Barsel - if you have a question - then ask...
do not fall for the usual twaddle - "your questions is stupid but mine of course is not" - hidden censorship,I call it.

Blaart away - your education and thirst after knowledge shold be encouraged and not criticised.

oh in case anyone wondered - Coetzee ( covid-ologist and not Nobel Prizw winner in Lit) said: we have had no one in hospital ....
hence the conclusion that omicron is mild. ( for anyone who can follow scientific induction)
oh yeah, definitely encouraged.
do you call your response encouraging then?
"if you had actually read some of my posts you would know
but all you did was blaaart - "wot all that den?" and a host of other side-splitting fresh one-liners"
I'm holding on for the Pi variant. It's pretty mild but it does have symptoms that never repeat.
PP seems it's you that's full of twaddle. Our education and thirst for knowledge is hardly met when you post drivel that Angelique Coatzee is a covid-ologist. Wots at? as you say.

Angelique Coatzee is a gp with 33 years experience. That's it. Still who would expect a law graduate to know. Horses for courses old bean.
Angelique - I missed the GP bit

I saw her on tee vee as a beeb instant sarf efrican expert on covid
or - - - covidologist. I would NOT expect a british GP to say - "covid is mild you know, no one has died and no one's been admitted"

Did anyone catch Prof Alan Parker from Cardded 0650 Radio 4?
" The cap " said he on the Beeb " of the adenovirus vector is strongly electorpositive (*) and interacts with an site on Platelet factor 4 and is recognised as an epitope or - - antigenic determinant in a very small group of people. This explains the very rare (TTS) ( ? Terminal Thrombotic Syndrome?) seen with the vaccine"

(*) foo long words for a lawyer

yeah anyway and I fort - wow! lorks a mercy", lardy lardy!
anyone on AB hearing that would immediately go into
"wow wot dat den" mode, "foo twaddle !" ( thx Naomi)
and God knows what else!

erm no one seems to have heard....
// you post drivel that Angelique Coatzee is a covid-ologist.//

oh come on be fair! I was correct when I said she wasnt the Nobel Prize winner for Lit - so I did get SOMETHING right (*)
and you dont really exxpect me to spell Coetsee and van der merwe correctly do you?

(*) something of a record I like to think on AB - getting something right
@theprof. Have posted a question for you in news if you are around please?
On 1st Dec 21 minesapint wrote, as a crushing dismissive one-liner on AB:

// Angelique Coetzee is a gp with 33 years experience. That's it. Still who would expect a law graduate to know. Horses for courses old bean.//

in fact it turns out she is chair of the S African Medical Ass so WAS in fact empowered to speak for all her colleagues - appeared again today 14 Dec 21

moral of the story: be very very careful of listening to Abers in full one-liner mode ! (zat)

//Somewhere, in a Galaxy far far away, there's someone who understands PP's posts.//

Without positive proof I absolutely doubt that!
I always look forward to seeing the posts by the Prof, thank you
He's as boring with his varied claptrap as others are with their repetitive claptrap!
