Are there any? I know several people, all in ill health, who've had it, none of whom have reported any side effects - and yet someone has told me that everyone she knows who have had it all report bruised arms, extraordinary tiredness and other unpleasant effects. I'd be interested to hear the experiences of any ABers who have been vaccinated against Covid.

Bruised arms usually arises when a clumsy injection is given.
I haven't myself, but I know three people who have, two 87 years and one 94. There seems to be no effect from the younger two, the older lady has pretty much just slept for the two weeks since.
No issues at all for anyone we know. Some were expecting a reaction a sthere normally affected by flue vaccinne for a few days with aches or small brusing
I haven’t had the jab yet Naomi so can’t tell you about personal side effects.
What I can tell you is that sometimes when I have my B12 jab I get a bruise, sometimes I don’t.
Sometimes when I have a blood test I get a bruise, sometimes I don’t.
Sometimes people who have to inject insulin get a bruise, sometimes they don’t.
I had mine yesterday. It just feels like someone has punched me in the arm. No other effects.
Quick question 236, did you have it done locally or at one of the mega hubs?
Doh...237!
Vagus - I had it done in a local community centre which is being shared by a few GP practices.
Some older people bruise very easy some don't.
I know quite a few who have had the vaccine and only one has reported having a sore arm for about 3 days afterwards. She says it won't put her off having the second jab when the time comes. She is 86.
Pixie; was the 94 year old sleeping a lot before her injection?
No Ken. She barely slept at all, day or night. So, although it's possible it's just a coincidental natural decline... for her, it's a very big and sudden change, within 24 hours of the vaccine.
Quite a few people have died but as they always point out, they were old and had underlying health conditions.
I had mine last Saturday and no after-effects whatsoever. Done at a local Working Men's Club ie, several local practices together. It happened to be a doctor who did mine and I felt it a little more than the 'flu vaccines I've had done by nurses but I couldn't describe it as hurting and no bruise.
I'm not trying to put anyone off, just answering the question honestly.
On the other side, my pregnant daughter, who has had and "recovered" from covid, spent all day in hospital yesterday, with chest pains and struggling to breathe. She has been sent home and seems ok now... but possibly a covid aftereffect? As that as never happened before and they couldn't find any reason.
OH and I had ours yesterday, neither of us have any after effects so far. No bruised arms in fact I didn't even feel the needle go in, second one booked for mid April, all very efficient and well organised
Had mine last week,no problems at all.
side effects - you dont ask Mrs Mopp who says that her nephew married to Mrs Foo - her whole family had to go to hospital and the doctors had never seen anything like it - you know the ones who refused to be vaccinated in the first place - them

You do a long series - ( I wrote up 5000 sedations with this view) and see what occurs. and clearly you are on your honour to report the bad ones - so you DON'T say X is safe when it isnt. Because awful things happen if someone else does the same as you and finds different (*)
This method gets over a bias called Recall Bias

Pfiser is safe. all the ones I know who arent dead, are prancing around shouting "I'm free!"

Far more serious, which I will post about later is Pfiser does not protect at the level the trials said it did. ( todays news)

Sozza Naomi there are times I take your points seriously when I know from past experience I shouldnt

Now how cd it be less effective?
well first of all you do a long series not randomised - just do them - and see if the level of protection is the same as the treatment arm of the trial. Report today says it may not be

less effective - if the population you are immunising is different to the population you tested it in. BCG - very effecive in England. Much less effective in india ( 1935 series)

long post - well done for getting down to here
for those that have

(*) excluding data ( who die etc) because it is technically not suitable, is called data pruning, and is very very naughty. You deffo have to go to bed early for that one.
The truth is really that with millions and millions of people being vaccinated here and in other countries, its for sure we are going to hear of many cases of some people having what may be problems after having the vac, but I guess it will all be down to what percentage ???
damn I shd know the answer to that
Russia it is 1-300 which is regarded as high

govt site
Uncommon: may affect up to 1 in 100 people

enlarged lymph nodes
feeling unwell
Rare side effects: may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people

temporary one sided facial drooping
Not known (cannot be estimated from the available data)

severe allergic reaction

statistical incredible fact - if you want to say something happens less than one in 10 000
then you have to do 30 000 and have zero or one ( only )
rule of three

if you get two- that is one in 15 000, and the rate is less than one in 3000 ( rula fwee again)

so to say it is safe 1 in 100 000
you hvae to do 300 000 wiv zero or one

these you will notice are very very large numbers
PP, I've heard about the rule of 3... but why?
