Got a 'mole'...or something that looks like one... on my abdomen. Had it about 2-3 weeks. Its only small but has been bleeding. Its not itchy or painful but is it worth while bothering my GP with? Not to fond of visiting the doctors unless absolutely necessary.
Thanks.
ummmm, The answer on B&S is always to see ur GP. But as I said, I really don't like going to the doctors unless absolutely necessary. Was looking to see what it could be first.
What's wrong with checking it out tomorrow?
And, of course, we are concerned about you, as liking someone has something to do with it....you've asked us a question, we've answered it.....if you can't physically make it tomorrow then at least make a phone call to your GP and get a triage appointment to discuss, but he/she will undoubtedly have to see it for themselves.
I got mine checked out. The GP didn't seem overly fussed, which was a relief, but told me to measure & photograph it (!) and then keep an eye on it's size over time. Must admit I tend to forget to check but I've not keeled over yet. You may as well get yours checked for peace of mind.
//What's wrong with checking it out tomorrow?//
I'm tied up tomorrow yogi, helping a friend out with a bit of DIY.
that's not an excuse either. Will get it checked out next week. The only reason that I asked on here tonight is that I showed my sister yesterday and she said the same thing as everyone else on here so I suppose that I will have to visit the doctors soon.
I have seen a couple of melanomas in my time. They tend to be on parts of the body that are exposed to the sun so unless you have been walking around bare chested for years I wouldn't worry too much. It would be stupid to ignore anything like that so I would just go along for peace of mind as much as anything.
//Look on the bright side, you might get a nice lady GP like I did//
Last time that I had a nice lady GP she told me that I had to stop masturbating. I asked why?
She replied that she was trying to examine me!
237SJ...has got it right........it is not in a common site for a malignant melanoma.
Bleeding and crusting cannot be ignored.
Get it checked at your leisure.
and not all answers in B&S are 'go and see your GP'.....there's "No big deal...take two Ibuprofen every 4 hours and monitor the situation" from our gorgeous Sqad :-)
I had a different but related BCC on the chest
and the derm took one look and said - "actinic BCC from bad sun burn - you can probably remember the event."
and I said yeah burton Bradstock 1965 - I was in bed for 3 d.
237,
No defo not a skin tag, its smooth and flat.
Sqad, what else could it be?
will have to get it checked I suppose but would just like to know anyway.
