There was an empty bottle of this on my garden wall this morning. It doesn't seem the sort of beer kids would drink. Is it a connoisseurs tipple?

I think tastes have changed over the last few years :)
at least 40% of ABers think it is a dark mustachioed muslim who had come to kill you dead....
Is there a drunk lying on the other side of the wall?
I blame CAMRA.
unusual for a discerning tippler to drink on the hoof ...
(I wonder which picky smartmule will be along to correct the ed? - CAMRA)
autocorrect probably to blame :-)

easy then just look on the CCTV ....
Sorry about that Sandy, I couldn't find a bottle bank.
Its a rich, complex ale that is well thought of in my CAMRA Branch....but I wouldn't advise more than a bottle or two ! Gives me wind actually, although not as bad as Brains SA.
Nothing is as bad as Brains!!
Retro...yes, you are right although its not immediately obvious why. SA is not a particularly high strength beer.

I used to drink Ind Coop, and it was just as bad....sore botty the morning after !

Mikey you know what you will be asked if you waffle on at any time in the future. Have you been on the...............?
Is broadside 6.3%? Had a pint of this at the weekend and thought it was only around 4.5?

Maybe its a 'special reserve' or something of that ilk. Breweries seem to be doing that with the likes of 'Old Crafy Hen' etc.
Cant beat a pint of Jaipur Draught Bitter, dry hopped 5.9%. Lovely stuff.
lovely pint Togo. Rarely see it on tap. Only ever once had a pint of it at the GBBF in London.
My sons bought me a stonker last night in my local Wetherspoons. I normally drink a weakish Doombar by Sharps. A session drink. I thought the barrel was on it's way out so they bought me back a 'surprise' pint. It had a liquorice flavour and was quite moreable. They then told me it was 6.2% ABV. Wow. Almost twice what I normally enjoy. Thank goodness it is only a Festival Ale.
It was called Birrificio Italiano Bibock. Italian master brewer but brewed at Wadsworths for the Festival. Very nice and I slept well.

try asking for that after half a dozen pints

Great minds. I thought the same as I tried to write it. Never pronounce it after 3 or 4. :-)
Our local puts it on regularly on Thursday night, all £2.40 a pint and 8 different real ales. It goes pretty quick, and we all finish up pretty slow. Booldawg.
