OMG There has just been a huge flash of lightening and the loudest thunder I've ever heard! I HONESTLY thought it was an explosion. It's been a lovely sunny day and now it's gone quite black.

I was out having lunch with a friend a couple of weeks ago and we sat outside cos my dog was with us. It was cosy because the wall heaters were on and we were under cover when suddenly from nowhere came this HUGE clap of thunder, we both screamed and I jumped up and then it started hailing, but it was all over in five minures - weird!!

I know what you mean about it sounding like an explosion horseshoes.
I love thunder and lightening.
