neither me or husband particularly likes wine. Had a party at the weekend and hoped to use up some of the wine we had. However in the aftermath of the party i have discovered that not only did we not use our wine, we now have 25 more bottles.

I wouldn't have thought so !
You could raffle it and donate the money to a local charity.
I know you suffered a devastating loss, how about you raise funds for that.
I did it for a local animal rescue and just raided my booze cupboard for the prizes and did it in the office.
Send it to me. I'll pay for the shipping :-)

Loves you xx
Tell your family about your problem. They will be only too happy to help
'do food banks take wine?'
interesting question.
Maybe those that run a food bank in your area might be glad of a few bottles, just to give to a couple who have a birthday/celebration coming up?
Am liking the idea tho, of raffling to raise funds for charity.

no-one in my family really drinks it either. I have no idea if its antifreeze quaity or "nice".
There are legal problems doing your own raffle, but some charities might use them as prizes
may I be so bold as to suggest you tell us what you've got, am sure NoMercy and a few others would give their advice of it's quality.

(Hoppy will sample for free tho!)
have you got a school near ,you could give it to them for the summer fayre raffle xx
I'm on my way round now, with No Mercy
ps if there is prosecco i'll pop round xx
there now, ain't we a helpful bunch hic
(oh, excuse me)
Have you by any chance got a bottle of Chateau Lafite 1787 , in amongst them ?
wheres ex ed we could have a another party xx
oooh, now's there's a blooming good idea mally! xx

Baz, how much is a bottle of that worth? Have seen silly prices for age-old whiskies and such
Its a good time of year to ask this question as its the fair and show time of year, at least round here. Check the local papers for local good cause events and contact them, I am sure they will welcome your donation with open arms. When I had the same problem after DH died (he loved red wine, it gives me a thundering headache) I gave half to my local vets for their charitable funds, and half to the local horticultural society for their raffle and tombola. Like you I had no idea what was what so the winners will likely have got some surprises!
alba - have you got a spare 120 odd grand ?
jeepers, that cheap eh Baz?
blooming heck, wonder how many folk fork out a fortune for a rare wine and take the plunge, as it were, and on opening it, it is just vinegar!!

Very good idea Woofy x
Chateau Margaux 1787

Known as the most expensive wine never to be sold, this wine’s initial price was around $500,000. It was authenticated to be once part of the wine collection of Thomas Jefferson.

Chateau Margaux 1787 was accidentally shattered in a Margaux Dinner by a waiter who knocked the bottle over and broke it. Insurers paid out around $225,000.

Nothing was heard of the waiter after
could have sold his story to the Sun, 'I'm not a dumb waiter, it was the butler wot done it'
