Just to cheer you up.

November By Thomas Hood.

No sun - no moon!
No morn - no noon -
No dawn - no dusk - no proper time of day -
No sky - no earthly view -
No distance looking blue -
No road - no street - no 't'other side the way' -
No end to any Row -
No indications where the Crescents go -
No top to any steeple -
No recognitions of familiar people -
No courtesies for showing 'em -
No knowing 'em -
No travelling at all - no locomotion,
No inkling of the way - no notion -
'No go' - by land or ocean -
No mail - no post -
No news from any foreign coast -
No Park - no Ring - no afternoon gentility -
No company - no nobility -
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member -
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds, -
November!

And it's hard to hold a candle
In the cold November rain

Hi'ya 1ozzy, how's it hanging? Still creating masterpieces?

G'day Dave, not many pieces these days, ran out of aged, weathered, free materials.

How are you keeping?

There's a cherry start to the day.

I like cherries

Fine thanks. In bed listening to the wind building up. Another storm on the way. It's being so cheerful, as keeps me going....

I'd love to experience a storm worthy of being mentioned in the bible.

With a bit of forewarning, I could build a boat!!

Alas, dust prevails.

I love November.
No hordes or crowds or hot sunshine. My favourite time of the year

Expensive time of year for us. Grand- daughter, both our sons, mine , late mother and late father ( 1st Dec) have birthdays in November. When the boys were young we sent our hard earned lucre up to the heavens and watched it disappear in a puff of smoke. Soon managed tokick that tradition into the long grass.

Once upon a time I looked forward to November, but these days it just reminds me of how old I am getting 😥

The year turns

Winds blow, then fade

Autumn storms move to winter stillness

Fallen leaves a sunset on streets

Their reflected glow, turns tawny

Calling geese arrive

Honking calls announce they land

On their favourite fields

Fields that turn to sleep

Crops paused as the spirit of the year

Draws breath, holds, to exhale spring

As the Year turns

I didn't know ow that was the source for The Art of Noise's Opus 4.

November and December  - hibernating months.  Then wake up in January and aconite andsnowdrops.  Perfect.  Christmas over and done with!!

Mind you, I seem to have been in permanent hibernation this year between illness and accidents.   :0/

Love November after the season and heat is over. Still warm and sunny but quiet!

I don't like November very much. The weight of winter SAD starts to weigh me down. Inside, I'm screaming "I need sun!"

In a few weeks I might be used to it...

November two thousand and twenty three

When all turns yellow and brown

As discharges of shat and pee

Into river and sea come pouring down.

For that we thank the Water Co's

Untreated effluent comes from their hose

And Parliament with great delight

Approves this profit-making blight.

I just went all poetic and wrote this (I dont write) - what do you think..

november the first
and the worst
is yet to be

leaves fall
as will we all
and become rot

snow and a freeze
coughs and a wheeze
before year end

the jolly season
selling reason
passes at last

and then anew
spring and you
finally feel warmth

This November will be fine - my birthday, and then a Carribean cruise!!

Yay!!! 😁

# hello darkness my old friend,

# soon you'll start at 4pm......

I'm sure it'll rain sometime in November. 😊
