Can anyone help me on this one. I have a male cat and a female cat who have lived together for 11 years. Over the last 2 weeks the female cat has become very hostile towards my male cat.. Does anyone know the reason for this behaviour.

Many thanks

It couldn't be something simple like she's hurt herself (become injured??) and is feeling out of sorts or grouchy?

i changed cat food 2 weeks ago... thats when it started...but she has not been injured.. its so out of character for her though.. thankyou anyway for replying.. xx
My tortie has good and bad spells with my ginger male, particularly since we introduced our new kitten.

Its odd, as more often then not, she's fine with the others, but occasionally she'll get annoyed with them. I guess its the same as people, they're bound to have off days and bad spells. I wouldn't take it to heart though, as long as they have space, they'll sort themselves out I'm sure..

The other possibility, which i noticed in my parents cats, was that the females got quite irratable for a few days when the males tried to mate with them (a couple of the stud males still continued to try even after being nuetered!)

They're funny things!
