Modern farming techniques? Urban development? No. It's the domestic cat. They kill small wildlife just for the pleasure of it. My MP, Liz McInnes, posted on FB yesterday that we should all donate to the Cats Protection League. What an idiot. She should be concentrating on more important issues. Cats serve no purpose whatsoever.

Cats are only after the next meal whoever provides it
Find that "cats serve no purpose" to be quite a strange statement. You could say that about most animals (unless used for food) but the world would be a poorer place without them.
Correct Tony. Selfish little so and so's. We have two, sleep on our bed all day, sit on comfiest chair in the evening. Won't touch their food if more than three hours old. I just love the independence displayed by cats. I do not mind dogs, they are just so needy.
//A bigger nuisance is dogs crapping all over the place.//
For the most part dog owners accompany their dogs with pooper scoopers and plastic bags.
Cat owners just let their cats roam and crap in anyone's garden.
When we had our old Lab we never had a problem with digging up cat muck in our garden.
Little boys with catapaults and peashooters used to be the biggest threat to small wildlife if I remember .
Yes Retro cats *** is awful to find in garden especially when you are trying to plant something
what a load of poo.... the circle of life..nothing more..and I would much prefer the company of cats to a lot of people !!

Never heard of 'working dogs'
Sheep dogs, tracking dogs, guide dogs for the blind and disabled, explosives/drugs sniffer dogs, messenger dogs.
Try finding a cat that has the intelligence and can be trained and happy to undertake those tasks!
My cat never ventures far. He love his home life too much!
I don't agree with indoor cats either. I always have a window open for mine so he can come and go as he pleases. He chooses to stay in most of the time. He's not friendly though so avoids people.
Retro - cats are often used in care homes.
My last cat was a little killer. Sometimes brought me gifts i.e. Frogs or other invertebrates. How she got pigeon through cat flap god knows
My cat CAN'T go out...he's deaf.
Maybe he should have been put to sleep at birth...?

*shakes head*
That's different Pasta.
Minty one of my neighbours has fatt est Tabies going. You try and stroke it and claws appear immediately.
Adding to what ummmm said, cats are excellent companions to the elderly as they can be undemanding...except for affection- which they then give back in bucketloads.
How can that be bad, bainbrig?
I know ummmm...just pointing it out for the less thoughtful amongst us. ;)
lol Tony..reminds me of some folk !! it will always be on the cat's terms....they have staff..not owners !
lol Minty xxx having day of from hospital today her children and grandchildren visit over the weekend.
My cat is pretty well behaved. He doesn't seem to go out hunting either.

Wrong Retro, cats are far too intelligent to be controlled by humans.

Dogs are really stupid, allowing themselves to be completely controlled.
