Butterflies

Aw - two butterflies flew into my house yesterday - caught hold of them gently and then let them fly away. They were a lovely colour.

there was a question asked by (I think) The Butterfly Society asking people to note how many they noticed on a particular day, the results have come back, and they are on the increase and surviving nicely.

Beautiful and fragile things.

Good, I'm glad they are on the increase. Some on my buddleia now and I love watching them. One of them is huge, like a small bird!! (A Red Admiral).

Possibly 'Peacock butterflies' did they have eye markings on their wings ?
They like to over-winter in buildings & out-buildings.

you were so lucky to see two of the pretty ones, I have only seen the cabbage whites, lots of them round the veg garden, not a coloured one all summer.
